Today Microsoft announced the launch of Azure Local. It’s Microsoft’s new Azure distributed infrastructure that’s enabled by Azure Arc.
Azure Stack HCI is now a part of Azure Local. The same features and functionality will continue to be offered for the existing servers in the Azure Stack HCI catalog under a new form factor grouping name for 1U/2U servers.
All references to Azure Stack HCI will be rebranded to Azure Local in Microsoft documentation, websites, Azure portal, etc.
There will be no impact on customers’ current deployment of Azure Stack HCI. No changes to APIs, CLI commands, or anything that may impact your deployment.
There will not be any pricing changes, nor will there be any licensing implications or changes to Azure Hybrid Benefit (AHB).
In the future you will be able to run Azure Local with disconnected management, or smaller deployments of Azure Local.
DataON Integrated Systems for Azure Stack HCI will now be known as DataON Integrated Systems for Azure Local.
