Choose Azure Stack HCI to run your enterprise virtualized workloads with a hybrid cloud infrastructure designed for enterprise applications, with unparalleled levels of operating system security enabled with virtualization-based security (VBS) and hybrid cloud capabilities with Azure Arc-enabled hybrid services.

Native Cloud Integration

95% of Fortune 500 companies use Azure, which natively integrates with Azure Stack HCI. VMware relies on Azure, Amazon Web Service, and Google, which adds complexity.

Reliable and Easy to Use

Azure Stack HCI is familiar with server admins, allowing them to leverage existing virtualization and storage concepts. Plus, Azure Arc provides a simplified and unified management experience.

Simple and Easy Pricing

Azure Stack HCI has a simplified $10 per physical core per month price with no lock-in commitment. VMware customers have reported price increases up to 600% with 1–3-year commitments. And it’s now INCLUDED for Microsoft Enterprise Agreement customers with Software Assurance.

6 Facts about Hyper-V

Microsoft Hyper-V powers Azure, Azure Stack HCI, Windows Server, and more.

Myth: Microsoft Hyper-V has been discontinued.

Fact: Microsoft continues to invest heavily in Hyper-V.

Hyper-V is Microsoft’s core virtualization technology and is used in Azure, Azure Stack HCI, Windows Server, Windows client, and Xbox Live. Only Hyper-V Server 2019, the free, standalone version has been discontinued.

Myth: Hyper-V isn’t an enterprise-level solution.

Fact: 95% of Fortune 500 companies use Azure, which is powered by Hyper-V.

Hyper-V is used in over 65,000 enterprise data centers throughout the world. You can use multiple tools such as System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) and PowerShell, and even connect machines through Azure Arc to  manage them from the Azure Portal.

Myth: Hyper-V is difficult to learn and use.

Fact: Most VMware admins are familiar with the Microsoft ecosystem, including Windows, Office, and Azure. Hyper-V runs on the same familiar Microsoft stack.

Hyper-V uses the same management tools since it was introduced in 2008. You can use Windows Admin Center and the Azure Portal to manage your entire environment within a single pane of glass.

Myth: Hyper-V isn’t compatible with many infrastructures.

Fact: Hyper-V is compatible in Microsoft and mixed environments.

Hyper-V runs on most infrastructures using Windows Server, Azure Stack HCI, and Azure. In addition to running Windows guest VMs, it natively supports Linux and some Unix-based operating systems.

Myth: It’s difficult to migrate VMware VMs to Hyper-V.

Fact: There are multiple ways to easily migrate to Hyper-V.

Azure Migrate (in preview) is Microsoft’s native tool that enables you migrate VMs, while keeping all of your data on-premises. Many customers already use Veeam or Commvault for backup and recovery and they can be used to perform the migration. Both are compatible with VMware and Microsoft environments.

Myth: Microsoft customer support is terrible.

Fact: Microsoft has a dedicated Azure support team (not Enterprise support) for Azure Stack HCI customers.

Joint support from DataON and Microsoft is included with your Integrated System for Azure Stack HCI subscription. You’ll have a single case number and warm handoffs to resolve your case quickly.
